Your Mental Mess is not who you are

We all have mental mess. It's the negative voice in our head that says we're not good enough, that we can't do it, that we're not worthy of love and happiness. Mental mess is the result of years of conditioning and it can be tough to deal with. But your mental mess is not who you are. It's just a voice in your head. And you can learn to deal with it.

1. Acknowledge it.

The first step is to acknowledge that you have mental mess.

It's normal and everyone has it. Don't try to push it away or ignore it. Just let it be.

2. Accept it.

Once you've acknowledged your mental mess, you need to accept it. This doesn't mean that you like it or that you want it. It just means that you understand that it's part of who you are.

3. Talk back.

When your mental mess starts talking, talk back to it. remind yourself that it's just a voice in your head and it's not who you are. You can also try saying something positive back to counteract the negative thoughts.

4. Don't believe everything it says.

Just because your mental mess is talking doesn't mean you have to believe everything it says. a lot of the things it says are probably not true anyways. so don't believe everything your mental mess tells you.

5 .Challenge it.

When your mental challenges you, don't back down . Stand up for yourself and remind yourself of how far you've come . Show your mental mess who's boss .

6 . Create distance from it.

The more you distance yourself from your mental mess , the less power it will have over you . create physical and emotional distance between yourself and your mental mess . this will help you see things more clearly and make better decisions .

7 . Let go of perfectionism.

One of the main things that feeds our mental mess is perfectionism . We think we have to be perfect in order to be happy and successful . But that's not true ! Let go of perfectionism and give yourself some grace .

8. Practice self-compassion.

A big part of dealing with our mental mess is being kinder to ourselves . We need to practice self-compassion in order to quiet our mentalmess down . Be gentle with yourself and remind yourself that you're doing the best you can .

9. Seek professional help if necessary.

If your mental mess is really impacting your life in a negative way, seek professional help from a therapist or counselor . They can help you figure out things to deal with your thoughts and emotions in a healthy way .

Dealing with our mental mess can be tough but ultimately, IT IS POSSIBLE! These nine tips will help get started on the journey towards a healthier intra-personal relationship with our thoughts and emotions!
