Keto for PCOS | Day 30: The Journey Continues – Reflections & Next Steps

Wow – Day 30 is here. What a month it’s been! When I first started, 30 days of daily commitment to a new lifestyle felt daunting. But breaking it down day by day (and blogging about it) made it not only doable, but enjoyable. As I reflect on the past month, I’m kind of amazed at how much has changed in such a short time.

Progress Recap

In 30 days, I’ve lost about 7 pounds. I’ve trimmed inches off my waist. My skin is clearer, my energy is higher, and my cravings are under control. I’ve had one menstrual cycle that was a bit more regular than before. I feel stronger and happier. These tangible improvements mean the world to me – they’re proof that I have some control over PCOS, rather than it controlling me. But beyond the numbers and symptoms, I’ve gained confidence and a sense of empowerment that’s hard to quantify.

Lessons Learned

Perhaps the biggest lesson is that consistency wins over perfection. I wasn’t “perfect” – I had days where I ate a little more carbs, or times I skipped a workout. But I stayed consistent overall, and that yielded results. I learned to listen to my body – to eat when truly hungry, to rest when needed, to push a bit harder when I could. I also realized the importance of planning (meal prep and having healthy options ready) and the power of mindset (a positive, forgiving attitude carries you so far). Another important lesson: PCOS is manageable with the right knowledge and support! I no longer view it as an insurmountable obstacle, but rather as a condition I can work with.

Thank Yous

I’m incredibly grateful to my support network – my husband, family, friends, and the online community who followed along. Writing these posts has kept me accountable and introspective. Knowing that someone else might be reading and getting inspired or feeling less alone in their journey gave me extra motivation to stick with it. So thank you for cheering me on! It truly made a difference on days when my enthusiasm waned.

Although this 30-day “blog series” is ending, my journey is not. In fact, I feel like I’m just getting started. My plan is to carry on with this way of eating and living, making it a permanent lifestyle. I’ve set new goals for the next 30 days: lose another 5 pounds, continue to improve my cycle regularity, and maybe step up my exercise intensity gradually. I’ll keep tracking my progress, and I might even do a “Day 60” or “Day 90” update down the line to see how far I’ve come. I’m also considering talking to my doctor about reducing any remaining medication (if my improvements continue) – that would be amazing.

I also want to stay connected with the community. Perhaps I’ll turn these posts into a longer blog or start an Instagram account to share meals and tips. Helping others inspires me to stay on track too.

30 days ago, I hoped for change; today, I see change. Not just on the outside, but inside – in how I approach challenges and care for myself. It’s been a journey of self-discovery as much as a health journey. I discovered that I’m disciplined, resilient, and worthy of the effort it takes to be healthy. PCOS may be a part of me, but it doesn’t define me – rather, it’s guiding me toward better habits and greater strength.

So here’s to the journey continuing! If you’ve been reading along, thank you. And if you’re on your own journey, keep going – one day at a time, you will get there. Day 30 is not the end for me; it’s a confident stride into the next chapter of a healthier, happier life. I’m excited for the future, and I’m carrying forward all the momentum and lessons from this past month. The best is truly yet to come.
