Day 2: Sugar-Burner vs Fat-Burner – My Lightbulb Moment

I’ve been living as a sugar-burner for years. What does that mean?
Basically, my body has been relying on quick carbs for fuel instead of tapping into my stored fat. If I skip a snack or meal, I get shaky, irritable (“hangry” is real!), and my energy crashes. Dr. Cate describes how many people can’t burn their own body fat between meals, leaving them trapped in a cycle of hunger, fatigue, and weight gain (The Fatburn Fix - Dr. Cate).
Yep, that’s me in a nutshell.
A fat-burner, on the other hand, can go longer without eating because their body smoothly burns body fat for energy. They have steadier moods and more consistent energy. I honestly can’t imagine what that feels like (yet!), because for so long I’ve needed a constant supply of carbs to avoid feeling lousy. But learning about this difference was a lightbulb moment. No wonder traditional diets left me exhausted – my body was hooked on quick sugar fixes.
Understanding this concept makes me even more committed to the FatBurn Fix plan. It’s not
about starving myself; it’s about retraining my body to use my own fat (of which I have plenty,
thanks PCOS) as fuel. If I become more fat-adapted, I expect to see fewer crazy cravings and
more all-day energy. As a bonus, stable blood sugar and insulin could mean happier hormones for me. I’m excited to shift from Team Sugar-Burner to Team Fat-Burner and see how it transforms my day-to-day life.
