Four Ways to Start Keto Journey

Updated: May 28, 2022

Starting Keto Diet is as easy as 1-2-3.

You only have to remember a few things.

  1. Fasting and Autophagy To better introduce your body to ketosis, it’s good to start with 48 hours fasting and let it digest the existing carbs and sugar in your body. Also, fasting helps your body cleanse its own on its own. Autophagy is a process that helps the body to remove waste and toxins. It also helps to maintain a healthy balance of good bacteria in the gut. Autophagy is an important process for maintaining health, as it removes old cells and cellular debris, which can lead to cancerous growths or other diseases. Autophagy also clears out damaged mitochondria, which can lead to cell death if not removed.

  2. Break your fasting with fats. You'll want to make sure you're getting about 70% of your calories from fat, but most of this should come from healthy sources - like omega-3s in fatty fish and monounsaturated fats in olive oil and avocados.

  3. Protein You should aim to have 15-30% of your daily calorie intake be protein. That’s about 15-40 grams.

  4. Cut down Carbs Limit your carb intake to 5% of your total calories. That’s around 15-20 grams of carbs per day.

Below are infographics guide for the amount of serving on your plate.
